Using small tools you might already have at home, you can spin a worsted yarn! Laura looks at 3 different way to prep for a worsted spin without combs starting with a wire brush (pet brush), then moving to a flicker (or lock pop), and finally a hand card.

Jacey show you how to make hand-carded sliver with hand cards. She demonstrates how to keep your tips and butts aligned, how to pull it off and attenuate it with your hands, how to pull it off with a diz, and how to use your waste to make a less-consistent but still usable sliver.

Drum carders are often thought of as woolen prep tool but can also make semi-worsted batts. Roy Clemes joins us to show us the steps to creating a more worsted batt for worsted-style spinning.

A little bit on combed top and how to "prep" it for spinning to make it easier to draft and more gentle on our hands.

Laura tackles what to do with old/compressed/felted top by testing several "reviving" methods. She uses the same top and snaps and opens it, steams it, combs it, drum cards it, and hand cards it. Then she spins each sample, talks about the experience, and the closely looks at each yarn sample.
