I have an older single treadle Lendrum- love it! I recently purchased the plying head but am having problems using it. It is hard to treadle. Any suggestions? I have the longer drive on for it. Marsha MacDonald

I have well water with no softener, mostly calcium heavy. The scouring article mentions only using softened water. What do other folks with hard water do? I used Power Scour and my hard water to wash the Jacob and it turned out fine, but I have 4 more fleeces to wash this summer (may have gotten carried away lol) and I would like for them all to be successful.

I'm wondering about how to secure hanks for entry into a fiber show. Anything about securing the loose ends? What ties to use?
And then for my own use I usually tie a counting thread, kind of like what you would do in weaving, so I can count how many threads there are so I can determine total length. I'd love to hear what others do. I am hope I can see samples on Sunday.

Yes, she did the judging at Lambtown last year. She did give good comments, but I missed them as I was in a workshop. The skein came home with a nice note.
Kira is local so I've taken some of her classes. She also comes to our Studio 49 Retreat.

There were a few references to "the newsletter" What is that? Is there a separate subscription?

Thank you first of all with your unbelievably speedy reply. I did check under my account settings and I am checked to receive notifications for everything there that is listed. And, your suggesting my spam folder led me to go not just to my Outlook client, but to go to the email website and I see MANY messages in spam folder that I really wanted to see. But, it goes back only to June 17. Have there been any newsletters since June 17? And, is there a way to see older newsletters?
