We're also adding another monthly spin-in to the roster! This new one will be a building-skills spin-in. Everyone is welcome but it's especially for those of you that have told us you need more basics, foundations, and beginner spaces. Look for more info on that soon (it'll start on the third thursday of March (the 20th) at 5pm pacific).

I'll be late joining the Spin In, but I have a question for Michelle about plying twist. I've forgotten which teacher I learned it from, but some years ago, I was taught to ply so that the fibers in each single were in alignment with the fibers in the other singles. All fibers are then in alignment along the length of the yarn. (Hope that makes sense!) Is that the same as 50/50 plying, or 2/3 plying as Michelle describes it, or is that something else?

I've liked the yarn I get plying this way, and it works even when the singles are comatose from several years on the storage bobbin.
