From fiber to yarn; spindle to wheel; woolen to worsted; cotton to wool; drafting to finishing, the PLY Spinners Guild is your community guild. With new, progressive video lessons every 6 weeks, spin-alongs, Zoom spinning sessions, and more, we'll spin all the yarns as we celebrate our diverse and talented community.
Jill Duarte really loves spindles. She starts with an intro to the 2 main categories of spindles -- supported and suspended (spoiler: supported is her absolute favorite). From there she goes through how each spindle spins in a series we call "How it Spins". She even spins a bit on a brand-new-to-her Dealgan! The episode wraps up with us all making a yarn on a cross arm suspended spindle.
Jacey introduces her own very limited spindle spinning experience and why she brought spindle spinner (and maker), Jill Duarte, to the Guild. Includes a brief bio and lots of goofy grins and excitement.
